Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, born on the 7th of December th, 1963 in Edo State, Nigeria, was raised in a household of faith, surrounded by his loving and dedicated parents. He was the oldest of four children born to the elder T.E Oyakhilome, one of the pioneers of the Assemblies Of God Church in Benin City, and Angelina, and the mother of the Oyakhilome family, who imparted her divine grace on her son from a young age.

The LoveWorld ministry is a collaborative effort between the families. Reverend Ken, his brother, is the most revered pastor of Christ Embassy's Houston Texas Church and a member of the Christ Embassy Central Executive Council. KattyWorghiren serves as the director of the LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry(LMAM) in which many gospel musicians are among the top-selling in the world.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was educated in Edo College. He then won an award to study architecture at Bendel State University. He is a recipient of an honorary degree in divinity from Benson Idahosa University. While at Ambrose Ali University, he received a call from God to join the ministry and be an obedient servant of the Lord.

While still in university, the Man of God began what would be the largest congregation worldwide. It began as the formation of a small prayer group called 'Youth for Christ'. The group would later become the foundation of LoveWorld Incorporated and Christ Embassy as well as eventually millions of followers around the world.

The Man of God created a number of NGOs to provide essential services and provide hope to the needy, poor, and forgotten. COFI's five partners all share a common objective: to improve living standards and improve the quality of life in the most disadvantaged areas.
